The live trade desk
Enable trading on a linked account, place stock and ETF orders, and understand every order status.
Portfolio 360 doesn't stop at analysis. Once you authorise trading on a connected brokerage, you can place orders from the same screen as the research — the order is routed to your own brokerage account and settles there.
Turning trading on
- 1
Open the Trade tab
The account strip at the top lists each connected account with its live balance, buying power and institution logo.
- 2
Click Enable trading
You're sent to your broker to approve trading access for that specific account.
- 3
Watch the badge change
The header badge moves from Pending authorization to a green Trading enabled state. Read-only mode means analysis only.
Placing an order
- Pick the symbol with the validated symbol picker — it confirms the instrument before the ticket unlocks.
- Choose side, quantity, order type (market, limit or stop) and time in force.
- Review the preview: estimated cost, commission where applicable, and estimated risk and margin impact.
- Confirm. The execution receipt tracks the order live through submitted, working, partially filled, filled, rejected or cancelled.
Orders when the market is closed
If you place an order outside session hours, it can be queued for the next market open. The queue is weekend- and market-holiday aware, so nothing fires into a closed tape.
Trading authorisation is per account and can be revoked at any time. Funds never leave your brokerage — we cannot move or withdraw money under any connection type.
